All Dolled Up

Hello Everyone!
Today’s blog post is about one of my favorite  creative ladies: JOY  LEANNE! She makes these amazing hand made doll in a variety of sizes, styles, and skin tones. I had the pleasure of photographing these sweet dolls. You will see diversity in style, kind, and attitude within each doll. I love these little dolls so much that I even have a custom one made for my daughter! (I will post Kezzie’s doll to instagram because it has been well loved.)

The Meadows-Jaeger Wedding

I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely couple’s wedding during an unseasonably warm day in November. This family is beautiful and I couldn’t be happier for the Chris and Stephanie! It was a dream photographing this special day with people so beautiful (inside and out) I would think they were all models!

Welcome home, Keziah!

Happy Wednesday  everyone!

Words cannot describe how grateful I am to be a mother. After going through a really tough 2013, being told that I may never have children among other serious challenges, I can say that I am a proud mommy in 2015 and my health is doing great! What an awesome God we serve! What an amazing time to live in with so much technology and medical breakthroughs.

Today’s blog post features a subject near and dear to my heart. After five weeks of being in the Neonatal intensive care unit we were finally able to bring our daughter Keziah home. What a blessing she is! I had been wanting to take great photos of her for such a long time but I wanted to wait for her to be out of the hospital and unplugged from all the monitors. The staff at UVA were amazing. Each nurse and doctor that cared for her were attentive, warm, and compassionate. It was quite a journey getting her home but she made it by the grace of God. Thank you to all of our friends and family who have been so supportive of my husband and I throughout the pregnancy and arrival of our daughter. We definitely couldn’t have accomplished much without your prayers, love and support.

Beauty for Ashes

Happy Friday!
Today’s blog post features photographs of  dancers from the Beauty for Ashes Contemporary School of Dance in Hampton, Virginia. This dance school is directed by professional dancer and choreographer David Riddick who is my friend and fellow alumni of Virginia Intermont College. He is using the arts to impact the lives of children and young adults in his riverfront studio in the heart of downtown. These images are taken from  warm ups and performances on May 16 & 17. Bowen Bridal Jewelry

Happy Friday everyone,

V is for Victory

I typically don’t do back to back blog posts but I would be insane not to share these photos today! Today’s blog post features images from the Treney Tweedy watch party that was held downtown at the Ballroom [9th & Main Street, downtown Lynchburg]. Treney Tweedy is the first African American woman to run for City Council in the history of Lynchburg. Being at the watch party was a new experience and so stressful! It is intense waiting for the various precincts to call in their results, and awaiting the main office call you with updates. Talk about being ready to have a heart attack and I’m just the photographer!!!

The Seltzer Wedding

I had the pleasure of  attending the wedding of my friends Hope and Jared! It was one of the most beautiful and meaningful weddings I have ever attended. There were many magical moments in the ceremony. This was my first Jewish wedding and I loved it! Sunday was a sunny, bright, and warm April afternoon where everyone  gathered  with great anticipation in Bedford Co for this occasion. I pray for many blessings and a lifetime of happiness for this couple.

Interior Design

Congratulations Pastor Mike!

This past Saturday evening my pastor, Mike Hewitt, was officially ordained as a pastor! I’m so proud and happy for him. After a seven year journey which included him completing his master’s degree program he has finally arrived at this hallmark. Mike Hewitt wasn’t always in the ministry. He actually started out as a police officer in Roanoke and spent ten years on the force. I am very glad he can be in a more merciful profession. Mike Hewitt is such a nice guy, its hard to imagine him giving out speeding tickets… I can see it, but not really.

This was a service filled with spiritual lessons, music, and special guests including Potomac Conference president Bill Miller, and Columbia Union president Dave Weigley and a whole host of pastors ministers, family and friends.

Boudoir Photography

I get asked by ladies if I still do boudoir photography, and my answer is YES! I typically don’t post my boudoir photography out of respect for the privacy of those individuals. 90% of women I photograph use boudoir photography as a special gift to their husbands or grooms as a wedding gift and I definitely love & support marriage. In the next few posts I will be showcasing photographs of different ladies who were willing to allow me to share their  photos with you and for that they have my deep gratitude and appreciation.
